How can I be obedient to those who care about me?

September 10th, 2007 by deone

Being obedient to our parents and others can be very hard. When we are told to do something and it sounds like fun we have no problem doing what we are told. However, when we are told to do something that is hard, difficult, or no fun at all, we find it hard to be obedient. It’s the same way with God sometimes. It is easy to follow God and listen to God when we have our agenda and our plans. But when we listen to God and He has another plan for us or something He wants us to do that may seem difficult, hard and no fun, we want to do it our way and not be obedient to God.

Noah was a righteous man. He was a man who walked with God. When God called Noah to build the ark and gave him instructions on what he was to do, Noah listened. Noah followed God and did not whine and complain and say,”Do I have to? People will make fun of me.” He did what God asked of him and in return God promised Noah and his family he would never flood the earth again. He placed a rainbow in the sky to remind us to be obedient to Him but also how much He cares and loves each of us.

How can you learn to be more obedient to God and your parents and those who care about you? Read your Bible, daily prayer and attending Live it Live or watch on the ION network at 8:00 Saturday morning.

Join us this Sunday at Live it Live at 11:00 in the Fellowship Hall when we learn about what happens if we do not listen to God.
