Two of our Mt. Bethel members, Ed and Mary Ettel, will be recognized in Washington D.C. on November 6 by U.S. Senator Saxby Chambliss. The time is to be determined.
The reason for this recognition is for the time and effort this couple has spent in their basement compiling care packages for troops in the Middle East.
View their website to see what a tremendous effort this couple has made along with scores of volunteers from all over the community: http://ettel.typepad.com/anysoldier

Due to the uncertainty of the Senate Calendar, the time of Senator Chambliss’ speech is not predictable, but the floor proceedings will be on CSPAN-2.

SSgt Howard Lorenz
Mary & Ed and all who participated in the Any Soldier program,
My name is SSgt Howard Lorenz. I am currently stationed at Manas AB, in the Rebpulic of Kyrgyzstan. Today I received pacakages from these folks for orphans that my unit supports. Its efforts from folks like this that make the day of orphans whos own government will not support them. I want to take the time to say Thank You. This is a message to Saxby Chambliss…Thank You sir for honoring these folks in their efforts to make a soldiers day with the smallest token of their affection. These folks are true blue AMERICANS!! They are the reminder of why I do what I do…May God Bless the members of of Mt Bethel United Methodist Church… And God Bless America!
