The late United Methodist Bishop Ernest Fitzgerald
once referred to Dr. Randy Mickler in this fashion:
"If the clergy of the North Georgia Conference
were a football team, Randy Mickler would be our middle
linebacker!"
Dr. Mickler is a defender of the Christian Faith in
every conceivable manner. For 17 years he has been the
senior minister of the Mt. Bethel United Methodist Church,
a community church that serves 8,000 members of all
religious traditions. Under his leadership, Mt. Bethel
has been recognized by the National Church Growth Institute
as being in the top 1% of the most rapidly growing churches
in the nation. He is the recipient of the highly prestigious
Denman Award, Circuit Rider Award Citation and the J.
Taylor Phillips Award for Courageous Moral Leadership
in the North Georgia Conference of the United Methodist
Church.
He has been the keynote speaker of the United Methodist
Men’s Retreats in Georgia and Florida. He preaches
numerous revivals each year and has been the motivational
speaker for the University of Georgia Bulldog football
team. He is a graduate of the University of Georgia,
Candler School of Theology at Emory and McCormick Theological
Seminary, Chicago, Illinois. He has two married children
and one grandchild. He lives with his wife, Diane, in
Marietta, Georgia.
The proceeds of this book will help fund Mt. Bethel’s
worship services televised over regional PXA network
in North Georgia, Eastern Alabama, Southern Tennessee
and South Carolina. |
