The Recreational Ministries of Mt. Bethel United Methodist Church include a wide variety of activities for children, youth and adults – from organized team sports such as basketball, baseball, softball, flag football, volleyball and soccer to group fitness programs such as yoga, Pilates, and body sculpting. The Christian Activities Center has an inside walking track, cardio equipment, a weight room, fitness classes, and an indoor climbing wall that is open to Mt. Bethel UMC members as well as the entire community. Whatever the activity might be, each is designed to achieve four primary objectives: witness, service, fellowship, and personal growth.
The recreational programs provide an informal atmosphere in which to witness. The programs offered through the Christian Activities Center provide a positive example of Christianity in action to the entire community. An individual will find many ways to serve through recreation ministries: as a coach, a team parent, or as a referee or an umpire. The fellowship enjoyed through the recreational programs helps to build and strengthen interpersonal relationships. Participants in these programs will learn skills which will affect them mentally, socially, and morally in the future.
