Crafter's GuildMt. Bethel Advocate: Crafting for God's Glory"For the man who uses well what he is given, shall be given more, and he shall have abundance."
Our mission is to keep the warmth of Christ near to one’s heart. Through the exchange of joy for what we do, we warm the hearts of others, fostering the spirit of love, fellowship and hospitality for the glory of God. Crafter’s Guild began three years ago making blankets and pew dolls sent to our Missionary in Kazakhstan. We handcraft fleece Linus baby blankets, dolls, toys and puppets. Our projects include baby blankets for The Hope Center and Linus blankets for local children hospital’s. Our blankets are sent to McDowell County, West Virginia for the severely impoverished appalachian community. We also make lapgans for the elderly at nursing homes in the greater Cobb County area of Atlanta. We make house warming gifts for Habitat for Humanity new home owners in the greater Cobb county area. For our Christmas project 2006, we made over 50 blankets, puppets and toys for Jerusalem House, a safe haven for homeless individuals and families with children living with AIDS.
Our newest project will be sending baby blankets to Stars & Stripes, an organization that supports enlisted Naval families left at home while their husbands make a sacrifice and serve our Country on submarines during the Iraq war. We meet the second Thursday of each month at the Missions House back room from 1:00 P.M – 4:00P.M. No experience necessary, just bring a loving heart and some scissors...all other materials are supplied. Come join us! |
