“I have come that they may have life, and have it abundantly” John 10:10
Romania is a former communist state that is struggling to rebuild and reinvent itself. In the upheaval of communist decline and new freedom, many social problems arose. Mt.Bethel is a partner with Life Academy Romania in addressing the problem of former street children who are working hard at establishing an independent life. Mt. Bethel supports weekly training sessions in Christian discipleship, budgeting, job networking and social skills for orphans who have “aged out” of three orphanages there. Without such help, many would be back on the streets. Mt. Bethel helps to support three full time Christian workers in Romania who provide counseling, advocacy and financial help year-round to young people living on the edge of homelessness.
Each summer, Mt. Bethel sends a team to work in Timisoara, Romania, near the Hungarian and Serbian borders. We determine various projects to aid in evangelism, support for young adult orphans and construction to improve housing.
The only prerequisite is a willing heart. Would you consider becoming a life-line to a struggling young person who desperately seeks hope? You can become the hands of Christ in many ways; prayer, gifts, team membership, at home support. There is no experience greater than traveling to the point of need and stepping into that need under the calling of Christ. Jesus tells us that whatever we have done for the least of these we have done for Him.
