We offer two different weeks—each is a different curriculum. June VBS is in the afternoon a (to accommodate morning swim team) and July VBS is in the morning. You can choose one or both weeks!
AGE: Age to participate is age 4 (or turning 4 by 9/1/08) - rising 6th graders. Our preschool program (4k and young 5’s) meets entirely in our preschool area and their program is designed for their age group. Be sure to indicate if your 5 year old will be in preschool or kindergarten for the coming year. Elementary kids will enjoy an age appropriate program in designated areas throughout the church.
Rising 5-6th graders will enjoy a youth-oriented rotation with challenging and FUN programming. If your kids have been doing VBS for years and think it's getting old, Extreme 56 is gonna rock their socks!
Youth who are rising 7th—12th graders are needed! Applications are available throughout the church or on the web site. Contact Dianne Hylton for more information.
COST is $20 per child (per session) for members and $25 per child per session for non-members. A family cap of $65 will be honored. T-shirts are NOT included, but may be purchased for $10.
CDs of the music are optional and can be purchased for an additional fee
Before/After Care for working parents. Drop off your kids at 8:30 a.m. and pick up at 4:30 p.m. for $185 for members and $210 for non members for the week. (Cost includes VBS). You need to turn in an FCA registration form as well as a VBS form. Please turn in together with all fees attached.
Family Night is Wednesday of each week. Admission is $5 per person and cost of food is minimal, and fun abounds! Plan on attending for a great evening of fun and fellowship.
ADULT VOLUNTEERS are vital to the success of Vacation Bible School. If a parent or grandparent volunteers for the week, the cost is $15/child. Nursery is available for full week volunteers (ages 0-3). Lunch will be provided for full week volunteers and their family each day. But besides that, you get to share the love of Christ! Mt. Bethel members whose children attend VBS are expected to volunteer. If you are unable to serve during VBS, please volunteer for preparation opportunities and/or recruit another church member to serve during VBS.
FRIEND REQUEST—we try to honor all friend requests made at registration before the deadline. Late friend requests cannot be guaranteed. Please expect only ONE friend request to be honored. Friends should be in the same age/grade. If not, the friends will be matched to the lower age/grade group.
SPECIAL NEEDS should be noted at registration. Children with special diets or strict food allergies should bring their own snacks. We will make leaders aware of cognitive, mobility or medical issues so we can be attentive to your child’s issues. If your child has special needs where they require trained supervision (either mainstreamed or group accomodation), please contact Rev. Kim McGarr (kim.mcgarr@mtbethel.org OR (770) 971-8938 for notification so we can help your child have a positive experience.
BEHAVIOR ISSUES (fears/phobias, depression, stress, hyperactivity, attention deficit, social integration, etc.) can be handled in strict confidence, but please make us aware so we can be prepared. Also, please let us know if your child is dealing with new or critical issues like family death or divorce. We have resources for counseling and/or pastoral support. For more information, contact Dianne Hylton (dianne.hylton@mtbethel.org) OR 770-971-5074
