Life Groups

Know the Lingo

Life Group: Small groups of 6 to 12 people which meet in someone’s home for fellowship, Bible study, prayer and accountability.  Life Groups make a commitment to meet together weekly for 12 to 24 months.

Life Group Leaders: Volunteers who help facilitate group meetings.  Group leaders are responsible for providing their groups with vision, direction and support.  They facilitate the actual group meeting and act as the liaisons to the church.

Life Group Apprentice: The apprentice is a Life Group leader in training.  This “on the job training” is the best way to effectively develop the Life Group leaders of the future.  Let you group leader or the Life Group Director know if you are interested in apprenticing.

Spreading: The process of group multiplication.  At the end of a 12 to 24 month commitment, a Life Group multiplies by helping create more opportunities for people to connect.

Connections: An event where people meet and fellowship with others who are interested in being a part of a community group.

Covenant: Each Life Group draws a covenant to manage and establish expectations.  Group members determine when, where and what time to meet.  They also decide how long they will meet and what curriculum the group will study.

Curriculum: The curriculum your group selects should address each of our three vital “I”: Intimacy with God, Intimacy with other Life Group members and greater Influence in the world around us.  There are over 300 different Life Group curriculums to choose from covering 30 different categories of study.
