We’re thrilled to be sending a team to Welch, West Virginia, this Thanksgiving to love and serve the families in that community. This year, we’re partnering with Reclamation Church to host a special Thanksgiving Blessing—a day filled with food, fellowship, and the hope of the gospel. Together, we’ll prepare and share a warm Thanksgiving meal for 80–100 people, spend time in worship and prayer, and build meaningful relationships with our neighbors in Welch. Our prayer is that this afternoon will not only fill hearts and bellies but also shine the light of Christ in a powerful way.
Besides the Thanksgiving Blessings event, we plan to visit a new local ministry that opened in September called the Zera House. Their mission is to offer a safe home for women aged 18 and older who have been trafficked and sexually exploited, where they can heal while experiencing the love, hope, and grace of Jesus Christ. This will be a wonderful chance to expand our outreach in West Virginia and to learn more about the fight against human trafficking.
Our trip will also take us to Elkhorn Towers, a rent-assisted apartment community in Welch where we’ve built meaningful relationships over the years. We’ll bring a meal, share sweet fellowship, and join together in worship with our friends—reconnecting with familiar faces and extending Christ’s love to new residents we’ve not yet met.
